My family has been coming to this location ever since they first opened & we still choose it over any other burger place. I absolutely love Johnny's for so many reasons. You know it's good when it could stand and compete for yeaaaars with a Farmer Boys, a McDonalds, and an In-n-out all within a few hundred feet from it!
I could appreciate the fact that every time I come in, there are all women working and hustling to get the food out quick. The men here are cool as well & not creepy like most small places. Johnny's is always fresh, the fries are always crispy and the sodas are never flat. What I'm trying to say is that they get busy but they handle it well. Almost every time I come, they are slammed with people filling the lobby and lines out of the Drive-Thru but they always get the food out quick so whichever you decide to do, it'll be fast.
I usually get the Cheeseburger Special and that fills me up more than enough. They also have other non-Burger options that are good as well, like the steak sandwiches and the other sandwiches. I really enjoy the tuna sandwiches because they don't skimp on the portions.
I'm happy to see this place still in business after all of these years and it truly is a staple of Riverside. Ask anyone around here if they like Johnny's and I could guarantee every person does! -

Great food gets busy. Best to call ahead and order.
Bacon avocado cheeseburger the best. The French fries and zucchini great.
Fast friendly service. -

Probably the worst burger place I have ever visited. The ONLY redeeming qualities of this place are the cheaper prices and quantity of the food. The burgers had absolutely no flavor; the burger meat was tasteless and even the bacon (on the bacon burger) tasted as if someone muted the flavor. I was excited about the zucchini fries because all the other reviews raves about them; they tasted stale and nothing of zucchini (i.e. the worst zucchini fries ever). The soda wasn't fizzy either.
Overall extremely disappointed that $20 was spent on the worst burger meal. You're better off going to In-N-Out across the street. -

Food was cold and didn't have much flavor with very limited menu. Check out Angelo's for good mom and pops flavor!

Despite the similarities in name this does not appear to be overtly related to the burger joint in Riverside Plaza. Regardless, as an option with a thriving drive-thru option, I'd choose this place over In-and-Out across the street anytime. (Heresy?)
I support small businesses and don't like companies that proselytize (e.g. In-and-Out, Chix fil-et), but clearly the small company must perform and deliver. In that regard Johnny's Burgers passed my litmus test for quality and service. The old building is reminiscent of the old-fashioned burger shops with a drive-thru going between two halves of the building. The lobby is mall but there are outdoor tables available.
Recently I tried their Combo Burger with pastrami over a patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato and house sauce. Everything was perfect and a nice charbroiled taste to boot. We found their French fries to be nice and crispy yet clean tasting. All signs point to returning and expanding around their modest menu. Breakfast maybe?
